Reviews of the Bushnell Yardage Pro XGC

Real Reviews Submitted by Real Users!

1. The Yardage Pro was my choice to replace the iGolf Triton that had been stolen from me. My decision to upgrade to the color version has proven to be the right choice and I am happy with that decision. In the iGolf Triton, two of the additions that I really like are the "hole map" and the added storage (100 courses vs. 10).  I have also found that it is not necessary to delete and then reload a course to play it just to reset the score features as with the Triton/XG.  When I am on the course and turn the Yardage Pro on it automatically retrieves the correct course information based on location. This is an amazing unit and I am very impressed with its functionality!

2. I completed a considerable amount of research on the Golf GPS units before I made my final decision to buy the Bushnell XGC unit. Totally satisfied and beyond happy are my thoughts about this unit.

The following is my summary:
- performs the way it supposed to with no complications.  Simple!

- Excellent battery life. Battery life expended during 1 round would be approximately 20%.

- Has very useful features such as the golf course map and scorecard.  Too cool!  Most courses I've played have the map feature but some don't. Scoring summaries (birdies, pars, bogeys, putts etc) can be viewed at random throughout your game.

-  There is excellent contrast on the color screen and you have the option to change the contrast whenever you need or want to.

- Yardages are totally accurate which is a stroke saver.

- I like the simplicity of downloading course layouts from the Bushnell ease of use.

- Very competitively price for the quality of the unit.

3. Just prior to Christmas I purchased this unit.  Installing the software onto my "Windows XP" was trouble free. Display is easy to read, even in sunlight. So far as I can tell, the iGolf appears to be very accurate, I have yet to check it against my son's laser, but will update when I do. Custom points are easily added & I love the mapped courses that you can measure any point. So far, my only disappointment has come from iGolf itself.  I had specifically purchased the iGolf for use on 1 particular course but it is not available and I am being told that by the iGolf techs, which doesn't make much sense to me since another course not 100 yds distant IS mapped!  Occasionally they play an 18 hole tournament that uses both of these 9 hole courses so it makes sense that they should both be mapped and not just 1 of them!  That bit is frustrating!  They do keep giving my mapping credit back, but one of the reasons I bought the unit was to use it at Malden Country Club.  Regardless of that glitch I find that the unit is easy to use, shot measuring is easy, battery life is good for approx. four rounds of golf.

4. I like this unit even though it doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" of more expensive GPS golf units. I find it to be very functional. Well priced for the quality and accuracy, I would purchase this unit again and highly recommend it. I have a Bushnell Rangefinder that seems to be within a couple yards of the rangefinder. At most of our golf levels, a few yards won't make any difference in club selection.  It is as compact in size comparable to cell phones which makes it convenient to be carried in a pants pocket easily. The map feature where you can pick any yardage on given hole is a slightly more difficult to get an accurate yardage then when just using the "MAIN" screen for yardage. The unit can store up to 100 courses which is also advantageous. The only drawback to the course subscription feature is if a change is made to a course in a few years, a new subscription will have to be purchased. As far as I am concerned, the one time fee should be sufficient for 100 courses unless something major would change with a course. In conclusion I think you will be happy with this handy, accurate and easy to use item, especially for the price.
