1. The functions on this unit are amazing. Several people have noted that they wanted it to display distances to hazards automatically. This is not an issue for me. I do not need to view a distance to the lake 25 yards away from me – however if I do require the distance to any area on the hole, all I have to do is touch the screen and I can obtain it. If I miss the precise spot I am able to drag it and if I want I can touch it again to take off the distance. Additionally you may use the marking function and permanently (unless you remove it) make an area (with a simple touch on the screen) on any hole on the course.

Other than the stat tracking and club recommendation functions, my favorite aspect of this device has been downloading the information from my rounds. Once this is completed (it takes about a minute) then I am able to look at any of my round and get Google map pictures of where I played each shot from (only if I marked the shots). This is excellent feedback. It will additionally keep up with your strokes on the scorecard if you mark your shots (with one touch on the screen).

I have never had issues with the device freezing. There have been a couple of times where the hold is shown but the distance does not update. I selected the menu button, selected the course again, and picked the hole and it was okay again. I did not lose any of my round information. As well, the time when I had to do that interfered with the flow of my round – the onpar instantly shows the time, the pace that you are playing at, and the time it expects you to complete the round. If I reselect the course, it tacks on 4 hours to the time.

All of the courses in my city (Metro Atlanta) are available, except for one, which was a private course up until a while ago. Additionally, the courses that I tried in Vegas were available and I would have been defeated without the OnPar out there (target golf).

Positives and Negatives are provided. Thorough dissertations on functions ease of use, preciseness and more. Note: I was surprised to see they reviewed the Garmin G5 as been less precise than the Callaway uPro. Who would have imagined??

I love the size of the OnPar – and its club/shot analysis function is superb – yet I dislike not having the ability to simply analyze distances in relation to Hazards without having to mess about with it. Makes me wonder what they were thinking.

3. The accuracy is decent, yet I still depend on my laser rangefinder for better accuracy when I am able to spot the flag. There is no instruction manual included so you will have to visit their website to see how to use the functions. The touch screen is extremely sensitive so do not stick it in your pocket. You will mark your shots without meaning to do so. It additionally has an issue on courses that include more than two nines. If you come too close to another nine, it assumes you are changing courses and asks if you want to end the present gold session. It asks this over and over again. Onpar is trying to fix this issue.
